acrodance
AcroDance is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.
Acro's roots are in traditional Chinese dance, later appearing as a favoured style on the Vaudeville stage. More recently, acro gained popularity with the wide spread success of the contemporary circus productions of Cirque du Soleil. Main stream media including dance television programs like 'So You Think You Can Dance', 'America's Best Dance Crew' and 'Dance Moms' have further fueled it's demand in amateur competitive dance and studio settings.
Acro is an especially challenging style for dancers to master as training in both dance and acrobatic elements is required. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength. AcroDance starts at Level I at 6 years old and up, and progresses through to Level IV.

aerial silks (hammock)
Aerial silks is a stunning "dance" where performers use suspended fabric to climb, twist, pose, and drop in an art form that builds incredible strength and coordination. Dance Gallery is pleased to be home to Aerial Hammock with our 8 year olds and up.
New students begin in Aerial Silks Intro, a class where they will learn to climb, perform basic poses, and beginner sequences, and work to develop the strength needed for upper levels.
Progression to the more difficult levels is up to the discretion of the Aerial Silks instructor who will determine if the Aerial Artist has developed the strength and coordination to move up the levels. Aerial Silks starts at the Intro Level at 8 years old, and progresses up to Aerial Silks IV.
Space in these popular classes is extremely limited and preregistration is required. Reserve your space today by finding an appropriate class. Click on the red “Enroll” Button to begin the process of signing up!
